JP Morgan meetup collider - Getting the tech community together
This month we’ll be running our meetup along several others at the “JP Morgan Meetup Collider” event. It will run as normal, but at the end we’ll all gather in the same location to chat and hear more about the other tech communities in Glasgow.
There will be 2 talks, food and drinks kindly provided by our hosts.
18:00 - 18:45 - chat, food, drinks
18:45 - 19:15 - Talk 1:
“Building a Website with Serverless”
Speaker: Alasdair Stalker
There are many ways to build and run a website and it can be confusing and complicated just to get up and running. In this talk we’ll look at the Serverless Application Framework and how it can enable you to get a Javascript App built and deployed quickly and easily.
19:20 - 19:50 - Talk 2:
“Tools and Practices for Scaling React Applications”
Speaker: Scott Riley
How we use different libraries and approach concepts like testing and code review to build and keep a large React codebase functional and healthy.
Note that each meetup has their own event page for the Collider, so please only register for this one if you are definitely coming to this one.
Other important notes:
This is a sign-up only event - only people who have registered to one of the meetups participating at the collider will be allowed at the event. No walk-ins or under 18s will be allowed.
Entry badges will be prepared in advance only for those that signed up.
There will be filming/photography taking place, primarily during the last networking part, so if you have any concerns with this, please speak to one of the JPMorgan representatives on the day.
Some of the social media tags you can use: #MeetupCollider, #GlasgowInnovation and #InnovatingTogether
